A Good Start..
After extensive water damage from a roof leak , the entire second floor ceiling and bedroom exterior walls had to be removed due to mold. With all the mold professionally removed and disposed of, the insulation was replaced and increased well beyond today’s standards and certainly more than the original levels of the house. The ceiling and walls became more of a restoration than renovation, trying to mimic the century old details of the crown moldings, ceiling medallions, and intricate trim work not always found in today’s modern builds. While the walls were apart, we took the opportunity to improve the HVAC system and air circulation to the second floor bedroom by adding new high air returns. We handed the project back to the owner knowing it is in good hands of a capable interior designer to finish the restoration.
